How to Create a Feeding Station on Your Deck
Your deck is your safe haven. It’s your place to relax, a place to get away from it all.
With our exclusive, patented Advanced Pole System® (APS), you can create the ultimate system that will attract the birds to your backyard but keep the mess off your deck. In fact, it’s as easy as 1, 2, 3.
1. Install It
Begin your feeding station by securely fastening your deck mount (denoted as (a) in the picture to the left) to a rail or post.
We have a variety of deck mounts that accommodate all types of decks, whether it’s made of metal, wood or composite.
2. Extend It
Next, place an APS Extension Pole (b) in the Deck Mount. Then simply add an EZ-Attach™ Crook Arm (c), APS Extended Deck Arm (d) and EZ-Attach Decorative Branch Perch (e). (For tidier feeding, angle the arms away from the deck or patio.)
Our EZ-Attach design makes adding accessories to an APS setup a snap. Just slip the EZ-Attach unit on an extension pole and pull down to secure.
3. Accessorize It
Top your feeding station with one of our many finials (f). If you have raccoons that would become a nuisance at your new feeding station, be sure to add a raccoon baffle (g). Finally, fill and add your feeders.
Offer our unique No-Mess Blend in The Eliminator™ Squirrel-proof Feeder for a tidy, squirrel/raccoon deterring combination. No-Mess features seeds without their shells so only the meat of the seed is left. No hulls on the seeds makes for tidier feeding, since there’s no debris on the deck or ground to clean up.
The Eliminator features unique, weight-sensitive technology that closes the feeder’s seed ports when a squirrel or raccoon touches the perch ring. You can set the sensitivity level to also exclude large birds such as pigeons or doves.
A suet feeder and hummingbird feeder are also tidy additions that complete a deck feeding station.
